“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.’)” ~ Galatians 3:13
The Bible is emphatic about the fact that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. If you’d like to know what the curse of the law contains read Deuteronomy chapter 28.
Part of the curse of the law is being distressed in life. Being distressed means to experience mental pain or suffering. Just like you can have physical pain and suffering, you can have mental pain and suffering. All of us experience stress at times. The word stress means, “a force exerted against”. Even though we experience stress we don’t have to live in distress – “experiencing mental pain and suffering”. Christ has redeemed us from being distressed. He’s given us His peace!
From now on when you begin to notice symptoms of mental pain and suffering resist it just like you would sin or any other thing that’s from satan. Stand on God’s Word and say, “No, I won’t have you. Christ has redeemed me from you!”
