“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead.” ~ James 2:26
Is your faith alive? Our faith can either be dead faith or it can be living faith. I think all of us could admit that there have been times and situations where our faith was dead. We mentally believed what the Word said, but we weren’t acting upon it.
Dead faith is faith that mentally believes the truth of God’s Word, but doesn’t vibrantly act upon it. It’s a passive faith. The Apostle James said that if you’re not a doer of the Word you deceive yourself. The deception is that you know faith, you believe in something, but you don’t realize that it’s dead faith because you’re not acting on what you say you believe. For faith to come alive it has to have action. In other words, if you believe the Word you act like it.
Let me challenge you to examine your faith. Is it a living faith, or is it dead faith? Are you acting on what you say you believe? If you’re acting upon what you believe your faith will be alive and vibrant. It’s not enough to say you believe in healing or anything else, you’ve got to actively believe for it!
