“Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes ye were healed.” ~ Peter 2:24
This scripture says that we “were” healed. If we “were” healed that means we “are” healed. It’s already a done deal. Were is past tense.
I don’t think any true Christian would disagree with the fact that the price for our sins had already been paid. That if we’ve received Jesus as Lord and Savior our forgiveness has been paid for. The same is true concerning our sicknesses. The price has already been paid for the healing of our sicknesses. I know that Christians can still get sick just like they can still sin, but the truth is Jesus bore both of them for us so that we don’t have to.
So what’s a believer to do when he’s tempted to sin? It’s very simple. Resist the temptation and God will make a way of escape. The same is true when symptoms of sickness come our way. We’re to resist them in the Name of Jesus and God’s power will cause us to overcome all symptoms.
The place to start is with the revelation that you already have healing. That the price has already been paid. It’s not something you have to talk God into, because He’s already done something about it. “By whose stripes you ‘were’ healed!”
