That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man.    ~   Ephesians 3:16   ~     

Paul’s prayer for the church in Ephesus is that they would be strong in their inner man.  Just like you can be weak physically, you can be weak spiritually.  One of the issues plaguing the church today is that so many believers are lean in their spirits.  They haven’t developed their spirit by feeding on God’s Word, and by prayer, to the point that it’s strong.  The late evangelist F.F. Bosworth once said, “Some Christians feed their bodies three hot meals a day and their spirits one cold snack a week.”  If that were true in his day, I think it may be even more true today.

It seems too many believers choke when you try to feed them the meat of the Word because they aren’t use to eating it.  It’s vital that we take the time to develop strong spirits.  Everything we do for God we should do strongly.  Years ago I heard Dr. Lester Sumrall preach a message on seven areas we should be militant in.  He said we need to pray, sing, speak words, give, go, resist, and love militantly.  Purpose in your heart today to develop  a strong spirit and don’t do anything for God half-heartedly ever again!

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.      ~   Romans 10:9    ~           

When Jesus was raised from the dead it brought us life!  The Greek language calls it zoe which means, “life in the absolute sense as God has it, that which the Father has in Himself, and which He gave to the Son to have in Himself”.  That’s the kind of life God gave us when we were raised from the death of our sins.  We were given something which the Bible calls eternal life.  Eternal life is not just a time span, but it’s a quality of life.  It’s the highest kind of life that’s available.

Jesus, at the cross, swallowed up all death had to offer and it wasn’t enough to keep Him dead, because there was so much life in Him.  He’s called the Author of Life.  It just was not possible for death to hold Him.  His resurrection changed everything for us.  It has enabled us to walk free from the power of death, and to be able to enjoy the kind of life that God Himself has!

Where is boasting then?  It is excluded.  By what law?  Of works?  No, but by the law of faith.     ~   Romans 3:27   ~       

The Bible is a book that majors on faith.  That’s because everything in the Kingdom of God operates by faith.  You can’t even please God without faith according to Hebrews 11:6.  We shouldn’t look at faith as a hit or miss proposition.  That sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.  The Bible calls faith a law.  A law is a law because it works every time it’s put to work.  It doesn’t just work sometimes, it works every time.  Of course, that’s providing we operate the law correctly,

One area where people improperly use the law of faith is by putting faith in the future.  That someday it’s going to come to pass.  But faith isn’t future tense, it’s in the present tense.  Faith is now.  The law of faith believes it has received now.  People will say, “Someday the Lord is going to heal me.”  That may sound like a faith statement to the untrained ear, but it really is an improper use of the law of faith.  The law of faith says, “Thank God by His stripes I am healed.”  Do you see the difference?  One is in the future and one is in the now.  If you can just remember that faith is in the now you’ll be a long way down the road to operating the law of faith.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.     ~     I Corinthians 12:1       ~   

Isn’t it something that the very thing the apostle Paul told us not to be ignorant of the majority of the church is ignorant of?  And that many of those who do know something about the gifts just aren’t that interested in them?  You can read about these spiritual gifts in verses 8-10 of this same chapter.  While space doesn’t permit me to go into the definitions of each of these gifts, I can give you the number one prerequisite for knowing about them and for operating in them.  That prerequisite is hunger.  We must hunger for them.  If we don’t hunger for them we either won’t understand them or won’t operate in them, or both.

Paul plainly tells us to “desire spiritual gifts”.  This is quite different from the instruction that is received in many churches today.  Many are told that they are not for today, or that they offend visitors.  The gifts of the Spirit are weapons from Heaven that every believer needs.  These weapons have never been rescinded.  We need them just as much today, or more, than we’ve ever needed them.  Not just in public assembly, but in our personal lives.  While many may never be used in the gifts of the Spirit in public assembly, they can see them operate in their everyday lives.  So don’t be passive when it comes to the gifts of the Spirit, but hunger after them.  You never know when you’ll need them!

So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there.  Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.”  Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.           ~  I Chronicles 4:11  ~   

The name Baal Perazim means, “Master of Breakthroughs”.  Our God is a Master of Breakthroughs!  I believe the year 2012 is going to be a year of breakthroughs for us!  A breakthrough is defined as, “Removing or surpassing an obstruction or restriction.  Any significant or sudden advance, development, achievement, or increase that removes a barrier to progress.”  I don’t know about you but I’m ready for some breakthroughs this year. 

Here are two keys for your breakthroughs this year:  #1)  Don’t limit God.  Take all limits off what God can and will do in your life.  Forget all past limitations.  Don’t measure your future by your past.  #2)  Obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit.  Being obedient to the things God has spoken to your spirit is key to an outbreak of blessings.  Obedience is a springboard into your future.  So set your expectations high and expect the Master of Breakthroughs to give you some exciting breakthroughs this year!

Merry Christmas!  Who would have thought that just saying that would be controversial?  The world (actually it’s the devil) would love to take the Christ out of Christmas.  Even though the world, and even many in the Church don’t know what Christ means, the devil does!  The word Christ actually means, “The Anointed One”.  It comes from the Greek word Christos and translates in the Hebrew as Mashiyach or Messiah.

Christ is not Jesus’ last name, it’s His title.  He is God’s “Anointed One”.  Which is exactly why satan can’t stand us saying “Merry Christmas”.  He’d rather we tone that down and say “Happy Holidays”.  This is why he is doing his best to get the world to stop saying it.  Every time they say it they are saying “The Anointed One”.  Make no mistake, he knows Who The Anointed One is because The Anointed One stripped him of all his power.  Every time we say “Merry Christmas” he’s reminded of his defeat.  He knows there is only one Anointed One Who defeated death, hell, and the grave…..  JESUS !  And to that I say, MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!
