“Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” ~ Proverbs 20:6 ~
Are you a faithful person? Before you answer that question think about this verse for a little bit. It tells us that most people think they are. They will proclaim their own goodness. In other words most people think they are faithful. The truth is a faithful person is hard to find. If you have to find a faithful person that means they aren’t all that plentiful. In other words, you have to look for them.
So how can you tell if you’re faithful? Well, you have to do an honest evaluation of your own life. Ask yourself, “Can I be depended upon? Can the church depend on me to be at my post doing my job service after service? Do I regularly make excuses for not being there? Am I one of those people that if I’m not there others think that’s unusual, or do they pay no mind at all because I’m gone so much? Do I treat even small assignments in a big way?”
The Bible says that if you’re faithful in that which is least you’ll be faithful in much. One way to get entrusted with much is to be faithful in little. I believe the local church is the proving ground of God for promotion. There’s a lot more we could say about faithfulness, but space doesn’t permit it. Evaluate yourself honestly though and see if you qualify for the term “faithful”. If you do, Proverbs 28:20 says you’ll abound in blessings !
